NGC Vintage & Modern Coin On-site Grading Event to be Held in Hong Kong in April

Collectors and dealers can submit most vintage and modern coins for on-site grading at NGC's Hong Kong, China, office or at the Hongkong International Coin & Watch Convention (HICC) and Hong Kong Coin Show (HKCS) in April. All grading tiers will be accepted for this on-site grading event.

Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) will conduct on-site grading of vintage and modern coins at the office of Certified Collectibles Group – International Hong Kong Limited from April 7-11, 2026.

This event marks the first time in several years that NGC has offered vintage coin on-site grading in Hong Kong. The on-site grading team will be led in-person by Ben Wengel, NGC Chief Grader and Senior Vice President of World Coins, who has firmly established himself as one of the industry’s foremost authorities on world coins. A top expert in attribution, authentication and grading, Wengel has written extensively on counterfeit detection for NGC and has conducted numerous educational seminars around the world.

Most vintage and modern coins will be accepted for the NGC on-site grading event in Hong Kong. With on-site grading, NGC’s full expert and impartial authentication, grading and encapsulation services will be offered on location with an extremely fast turnaround time.

  • For drop-off in-person, submissions must be made to NGC Hong Kong by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
  • For submissions by mail, packages must be delivered to NGC’s Hong Kong office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6.

(Please write "NGC HK OS" on the shipping label or on the outside of the shipping box for all on-site grading submissions to ensure that the submission is processed during the on-site event.)

Note: Cutoff times are subject to change due to high demand. Check with show staff for the latest information.

On-site grading submissions may be made in-person at the following locations:

  • NGC’s booth at the HICC (April 7-9) in BP International, until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
  • NGC’s booth (E5-E7) at the HKCS (April 10-12) on 18/F, The Mira Hong Kong, until 5:00 p.m. on first day of the show, Friday, April 10, 2026.
  • NGC's Hong Kong office, by appointment only.

2026 Chinese Silver Dragon coins submitted during the HICC will be prioritized during this on-site grading event. Please contact NGC’s Hong Kong office to coordinate pick-up of these coins.

All on-site grading submissions are expected to be completed and ready for pick up or return shipment starting Monday, April 13, 2026.

About the Hongkong International Coin Convention

The Hongkong International Coin & Watch Convention (HICC) is a twice-a-year event that promotes Asia's coin and banknote marketplace to a broad audience. The oldest show of its kind in Hong Kong, it attracts numismatic collectors from all over the world. The April 7-9, 2026, event is being held at the BP International.

About the Hong Kong Coin Show

The Hong Kong Coin Show is a prestigious numismatic event held twice a year. Occurring in March/April and September/October, this highly anticipated gathering is organized by three prominent partners: Stack's Bowers, Coin-In-Coin, and Shouxi.com. The primary objective of the Hong Kong Coin Show is to establish Hong Kong as a world-class hub for numismatic auctions and coin shows. To accomplish this mission, the HKCS offers a range of engaging activities, including educational seminars, exhibitions and complimentary appraisals conducted by experts. The April 10-12, 2026, event is being held at the Mira Hong Kong.

Preparing submissions

The NGC on-site grading event will be held at the office of Certified Collectibles Group – International Hong Kong Limited, NGC’s affiliate in Hong Kong, China.

NGC will accept most vintage and modern coins, tokens and medals for this event*.

*Important Notes:

  • All submissions must be made using the NGC Hong Kong Submission Form.
  • Submit tokens and medals on a separate submission form. The submitter must provide the relevant reference number (e.g., BHM, Diakov, Kienast, etc.).
  • PCGS-graded coins for CrossOver, coins that require NGC Thick Holders (up to 9mm in thickness) and coins that require NGC Oversize Holders (up to 101.5mm in diameter and 25mm in thickness) will be accepted for on-site grading. Submit each of these types on a separate submission form.

The following coins cannot be accepted for on-site grading but can be submitted for shipment to NGC’s US Headquarters for grading:

  • Modern Indian coinage (1990-present)
  • Medieval (Pre-1500) Polish Denar
  • Pre-1500 Hungarian Obol
  • Bracteates
  • Russian wire money
  • Pre-1800 Islamic Hammered coins (Umayyad, Fatimid, Dinar/Dirham)
  • Ancient coins
  • Mint Error and VarietyPlus submissions
  • Coins for Metallurgic Analysis
  • Coins requiring NGC Conservation

The following coins cannot be accepted by NGC's Hong Kong office:

  • Chinese cash coins

Submissions will be accepted from paid Collector members and Authorized Dealers with NGC, PMG, ASG or CGC Cards. Submissions must be made using the NGC Hong Kong Submission Form.

Fees for on-site grading

For faster processing, collectors and dealers must pay by credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard) at the time of submission. If payment is not made at the time of submission, coins can be returned at the time of completion IF the submitter provides proof that they have paid.
