The Professional Numismatists Guild
The Professional Numismatists Guild is a non-profit organization composed of the world's top rare coin and paper money experts. As numismatic professionals, their primary mission is to make the hobby safe for collectors and investors by maintaining strict standards of excellence and ethics for their member dealers.
The PNG is the only numismatic organization in the United States that restricts its membership to dealers who possess and demonstrate three essential qualifications: knowledge, integrity, and responsibility. The typical PNG dealer has more than 25 years of experience in the industry.
Because PNG dealers are elected to membership by their peers, collectors have the assurance of buying or selling coins with confidence. PNG dealers are bound by a code of ethics that distinguishes them as adhering to the highest ethical standards in all aspects of coin commerce. In addition, PNG provides an arbitration process in the event of any dispute that may arise regarding the grade, value, or pricing of a coin purchased or sold by a PNG member dealer.
Since 2004, Numismatic Guaranty Company has been the official grading service of the PNG. All NGC coin holders now include the logos of both the ANA and PNG, which reflects NGC's goal of expanding and promoting the positive values and integrity of these organizations.
